The short version. Wazzit does not sell your data, does not show ads, and does not track you across other apps or websites.
Your saved words and the photos you take stay on your own device. A photo is sent to our server only at the moment you scan it, only so the object in it can be identified, and it is not stored on our servers afterwards.
You can use Wazzit without creating an account. You can delete your account and all of its server-side data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account.
Wazzit is a vocabulary learning app developed and operated by Harun Ertuğrul ("we", "us"). For any privacy question you can reach us at harunertugrul30@gmail.com.
You point your camera at a real object. Wazzit identifies the object and gives you its name in the language you are learning, together with the article and grammatical gender where the language uses them, a phonetic reading, and example sentences. Words you scan are saved into a personal dictionary and can be practised in a spaced-repetition review screen.
When you scan an object, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our own backend (Firebase Cloud Functions), which forwards it to the Google Gemini API for object recognition. The photo is processed to identify the object and is not stored on our servers or in any database. A copy of the photo is kept locally on your device so it can be shown next to the word in your dictionary, and it is deleted when you delete that word or clear your data.
Wazzit works without an account. Signing in is requested only before an in-app purchase, so that purchased credits can be tied to an account and restored on a new device. If you sign in with Apple or Google, Firebase Authentication receives a user identifier and, depending on the provider and your choices, an email address and display name. If you use Sign in with Apple you may choose Apple's "Hide My Email" private relay, and we will only ever see the relay address.
We store a small record for your account in Cloud Firestore containing only: your remaining credit balance, how many of your 25 free scans you have used, your total number of scans, and the date the record was created. This is what makes the credit system work. It contains no photos, no words and no message content.
In-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) and handled through RevenueCat, which validates the receipt and tells our backend how many credits to grant. We never receive or store your payment card details.
Your saved words, their photos, your chosen languages, your daily reminder settings and your review progress are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to us.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own agreements. Their servers may be located outside your country, including in the United States; transfers rely on the safeguards those providers maintain, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Open Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app. This permanently deletes your Firebase Authentication user and your entire Firestore record, including every nested document. The action cannot be undone and any unused credits are forfeited. To remove the words and photos stored on your device, use Settings → Clear Data or uninstall the app.
Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK, the KVKK in Türkiye, or the CCPA in California — you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. The in-app delete function satisfies erasure immediately; for anything else, write to harunertugrul30@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Wazzit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will notify you in the app before the change takes effect.

Kaydettiğiniz kelimeler ve çektiğiniz fotoğraflar kendi cihazınızda kalır. Fotoğraf yalnızca tarama anında, yalnızca içindeki nesne tanınabilsin diye sunucumuza gönderilir ve sonrasında sunucularımızda saklanmaz.

Bir nesneyi taradığınızda fotoğraf, şifreli bir bağlantı üzerinden kendi arka uç servisimize (Firebase Cloud Functions) gönderilir; oradan nesne tanıma için Google Gemini API'ye iletilir. Fotoğraf yalnızca nesneyi tanımak için işlenir ve sunucularımızda veya herhangi bir veritabanında saklanmaz. Fotoğrafın bir kopyası, sözlüğünüzde kelimenin yanında gösterilebilsin diye cihazınızda yerel olarak tutulur; o kelimeyi sildiğinizde veya verilerinizi temizlediğinizde silinir.
Wazzit hesapsız çalışır. Giriş yalnızca uygulama içi satın alma öncesinde istenir; böylece satın alınan krediler bir hesaba bağlanabilir ve yeni cihazda geri yüklenebilir. Apple veya Google ile giriş yaparsanız Firebase Authentication bir kullanıcı kimliği ve sağlayıcıya/tercihinize bağlı olarak e-posta adresi ile görünen ad alır. Apple ile Giriş'te "E-postamı Gizle" özel yönlendirmesini seçerseniz biz yalnızca yönlendirme adresini görürüz.
Cloud Firestore'da hesabınız için yalnızca şunları içeren küçük bir kayıt tutarız: kalan kredi bakiyeniz, 25 ücretsiz taramanızın ne kadarını kullandığınız, toplam tarama sayınız ve kaydın oluşturulma tarihi. Kredi sisteminin çalışmasını sağlayan şey budur. İçinde fotoğraf, kelime veya mesaj içeriği bulunmaz.
Uygulama içi satın almalar Apple (App Store) tarafından işlenir ve makbuzu doğrulayıp arka ucumuza kaç kredi tanımlanacağını bildiren RevenueCat üzerinden yürütülür. Ödeme kartı bilgilerinizi hiçbir zaman almayız veya saklamayız.
Kaydettiğiniz kelimeler, fotoğrafları, seçtiğiniz diller, günlük hatırlatıcı ayarlarınız ve tekrar ilerlemeniz cihazınızda yerel olarak saklanır; bize yüklenmez.

Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions ve Gemini API), RevenueCat ve Apple. Bu sağlayıcılar verileri bizim adımıza, kendi sözleşmeleri kapsamında işler. Sunucuları ülkenizin dışında, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri dahil olmak üzere bulunabilir; aktarımlar bu sağlayıcıların sürdürdüğü Standart Sözleşme Maddeleri gibi güvencelere dayanır. Uygulamada Ayarlar → Hesap → Hesabı Sil yolunu izleyin. Bu işlem Firebase Authentication kullanıcınızı ve tüm iç içe belgeler dahil Firestore kaydınızın tamamını kalıcı olarak siler. Geri alınamaz ve kullanılmamış krediler kaybolur. Cihazınızdaki kelime ve fotoğrafları kaldırmak için Ayarlar → Verileri Temizle seçeneğini kullanın veya uygulamayı silin.
Yaşadığınız yere göre — örneğin AB/BK'de GDPR, Türkiye'de KVKK, Kaliforniya'da CCPA kapsamında — kişisel verilerinize erişme, düzeltme, taşıma veya silme; işlenmesine itiraz etme ya da sınırlandırma ve yerel veri koruma otoritesine şikâyette bulunma haklarına sahip olabilirsiniz. Uygulama içi silme işlevi, silme hakkını anında karşılar; diğer talepler için harunertugrul30@gmail.com adresine yazın, 30 gün içinde yanıt veririz.
Wazzit 13 yaşın altındaki çocuklara yönelik değildir ve bilerek onlardan kişisel veri toplamayız. Bir çocuğun bize kişisel veri verdiğini düşünüyorsanız bize yazın, sileriz.
Politikayı değiştirirsek sayfanın üstündeki tarihi güncelleriz; esaslı değişikliklerde, değişiklik yürürlüğe girmeden önce sizi uygulama içinde bilgilendiririz.
